Brad Pitt was born William Bradley Pitt on 18th December 1963 in Oklahoma. The son of Jane and William, he has one brother and one sister and the family moved to Springfield, Missouri when he was young.
Brad began his acting career with small television roles, including ‘Dallas’ in 1987. He came to the attention of movie-goers with his role in ‘Thelma and Louise’ in 1991 and with the release of ‘Interview with a Vampire’ in 1994 opposite Tom Cruise, his career skyrocketed. One of his more popular roles is that of Rusty Ryan in the three ‘Ocean’s’ films, in which he appears with his good friend, George Clooney.
He has been twice nominated for an Oscar. The first for his role in ‘Twelve Monkeys’ alongside Bruce Willis and for his role in the film ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, about a man who grows younger, not older as the years pass.
Brad’s personal life attracts just as much attention as his professional life, as his relationships with high profile women have filled the gossip columns. He has had engagements to actresses Juliette Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow and was married to the ‘Friends’ actress from 2000 – 2005. The couple divorced after Brad met Angelina Jolie while making ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’. Brad and Angelina now have a total of six children, three of whom are adopted.
The couple are known for their commitment to worthwhile causes and after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Brad donated several million dollars of his own money to help rebuild homes in the city.
