Colin Farrell, Actor

Colin James Farrell was born on May 31, 1976, in Castleknock, Dublin. The youngest child of Rita and Eamon, he has two sisters and one brother. It was thought for a while that he would pursue a career as an athlete but he chose to attend The Gaiety School of Acting and even auditioned for the Irish boy band, Boyzone.
After dropping out of acting school, he appeared in the film ‘The War Zone’ directed by Tim Roth and was cast in the BBC production ‘Ballykissangel’. Farrell’s first big Hollywood film was ‘Tigerland’ in 2000, followed in 2001 with ‘American Outlaws’, in which he played Jesse James. Neither of these films were major box office successes, but after the movies ‘Phone Booth’, ‘The Recruit’ and ‘SWAT’, he firmly planted himself amongst the Hollywood A-listers. Usually employing an American accent in his films, he was finally able to use his Irish accent in the film ‘Daredevil’ in 2003.
Farrell has a very colourful personal life and has been well known in the past for his heavy drinking sessions and wild partying ways. Often described as an ‘Irish Bad-Boy’, he has regularly lived up to that moniker. In an episode of the medical sitcom ‘Scrubs’, Farrell’s character was a rowdy Irishman with an eye for the ladies, who had been involved in a drunken brawl.
Colin married actress, Amelia Warner, in 2001, but the couple separated after just a few months. He has 2 sons; James born in September 2003 with model Kim Bordenave and Henry was born in October 2009 with current girlfriend, Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.
