Elisha Cuthbert



Elisha Ann Cuthbert was born on the 30th November 1982 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She was brought up near Montreal, Quebec and from the age of nine modelled for various children clothing lines. She appeared regularly as Megan in Canadian TV series’ Are You Afraid Of the Dark’ and won her first movie role in ‘Dancing on the Moon’ (1997). Several other Canadian film roles soon followed. In 2001 she starred in ‘Lucky Girl’ and was awarded a Gemini Award for her performance.

When Elisha was seventeen, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career. She was soon offered the role of the daughter of federal agent Jack Bauer, Kim, in the successful TV series ‘24’. She went on to appear in the first three seasons and to guest in the fifth and seventh seasons of the series.

Elisha lost out to Kirsten Dunst for the role of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-man movies but won small parts in ‘Old School’ and ‘Love Actually’ in 2003. ‘The Girl Next Door’ gave Elisha her first leading role as an ex-porn star that received mixed reviews. Her next outing was ‘House of Wax’ with Paris Hilton, which was panned by the critics but was a commercial success. In 2007, she was voted worst actress for her role in ‘Captivity’.

Elisha enjoys painting, is a keen ice-hockey fan and is currently dating Dion Phaneuf who plays in defence for the Calgary Flames.
