Funny Animal Poems: A Marriage Made in Heaven

Children can be ridiculous many times, but that part of their nature provides great entertainment to adults. It’s quite funny when we hear them recite poems usually given by their teachers for them to memorise.

Various poems are really made just for children. Animal poems commonly have funny, sometimes hidden meanings that can only be interpreted by adults. Because of these hidden meanings, grown-ups usually laugh when they hear children recite these poems. ‘A marriage Made in Heaven’ is an example of a funny animal poem that is intended for children. The poem was written like this:

A Marriage Made in Heaven

Mr. Camel and Miss. Dromedary were married
And in time a baby was due.
Said Mrs. Camel to her beloved
‘Would you prefer one hump or two,

This poem was taken from the animal poetry collection of Patrick Winstanley’s which suggests the funny consequences of intermarriage between two distinct types of camels, a dromedary and a regular camel. In case these two animals unite (which seems impossible) and produce a baby, the consequence would be on the appearance of their baby. A camel has two humps while a dromedary has one, so probably their baby might have one, two, three or four humps, which is really extraordinary and funny.

Children might not know the real meaning of the poems they are reciting, however through them, they provide happiness to many people around them. ‘A Marriage Made in Heaven’ is just an example of those fun poems that becomes more enjoyable when recited by children.
