‘Horton Hears a Who’

‘Horton Hears a Who’ is a delightful movie and even though I’m an adult, I enjoyed every bit of it. Yes, this movie will wake up the child in you and take you on a wonderful ride of adventure and fun.

From the makers of ‘Ice Age’ and with a voice over by none other than comedy king, Jim Carrey, ‘Horton Hears a Who’ makes for great movie watching with your family, and the kids will absolutely love it.

The story revolves around the elephant, Horton who takes great fancy to a micro- organism world and what follows is a series of humorous events that will keep you at your wit’s end. The script of the movie is excellent and the sequences move in perfect pace.

True to the original source book written by Dr. Seuss, the film successfully captures the essence and rhyming text of the original.

Horton is happy and living a great life in the jungle when he hears a desperate cry coming from a strange source- a tiny speck of dust that comes wafting through the air! Horton is unaware of what that tiny speck of dust holds- it holds an entire world of Microscopic Whos in a city named Who-ville and they are all under the leadership of the Mayor, voiced over by popular comedian Steve Carrell. Horton decides to save these tiny creatures in spite of the fool he makes of himself in front of his friends who tell him that he has lost his mind. Horton’s logic is simple and yet profound- he wants to save a life, no matter how small it is.

Technically, the film is brilliantly created and the CG Animation is absolutely mind blowing. Dr. Seuss’ brilliant creativity has found the perfect visual version in this film.
