Meet Dave

Meet Dave is an easygoing film that fails to deliver a very viable plot and worthy direction. I was not too impressed with the way the film unfolded into flat sequence of uninteresting scenes. If you are looking for a lighthearted comedy that will get you splitting with non-stop laughter, you might as well watch one of your favourite comedy classics instead of wasting your time on this flick.

Brian Robbins, actor turned director, of Varsity Blues and the Perfect Score fame has got one of the best comedy giants, Eddie Murphy to make this flick a success. However even Eddie Murphy’s charm could not take this film to that much desired level of brilliance.

Murphy plays the role of an alien spaceship captain that launches itself on planet earth in the form of a human being that resembles him.

The crew of this ship, which consists of really tiny creatures, continuously works on making this spaceship look and function like a human being. The purpose here is to search for a missing orb that had lost its way and is now in Manhattan. The captain of this ship meets a young boy who is being raised by his mother. The movie is about the experiences of the captain and his crewmembers as they interact with humans.

To give some credit to the talented actor, the film does come alive once in a while with his fantastic facial expressions as he tries to manage the spaceship that he carries around.
