Rabbit Toys

A pet rabbit does more than sit in a cage looking cute. Though you would never forget to give your rabbit food or water, you must make sure not to forget about the toys. A rabbit needs toys to play with like any other domestic pet. Keep this in mind if you have a pet rabbit or plan to get one. Rabbits get bored just like anybody else, especially if they are a solitary animal. They need things to do too. The mental stimulation is necessary for keeping them entertained and to prevent loneliness.

Toys that your rabbit can climb on or hop under are great for much-needed physical exercise. Without these types of things to do your rabbit will just sit. This can lead him to become obese or unhealthy in other ways. Physical exertion is a must, so provide your bunny with healthy toys that keeps him happy. Chew toys are also especially great since rabbits have a natural need to chew things.

Rabbits do have a tendency to chew on things so if you find they are chewing on a paper or cardboard toy, you may have to take it away and replace it with something else. A box made of heavy cardboard should be fine. Organize it so they can go in and out each end. Some cat and kitten toys, like balls, are fine for rabbits. Ask your vet if you have any questions regarding safe toys. Your pet’s health is important so do your part to ensure it.
