A simple A-line dress

What makes an A-line dress different from other wedding dress styles is its shape. The dress is a completely fitted bodice which flows out down to the ground – resembling the shape of upper case A. The dress is a one piece gown that flows from the bust down to the hem. This is the most classic design of wedding dresses and is suitable for all types of weddings – outdoor and more formal church wedding ceremonies.
Since the A-line dress is versatile in its design it can be one complete piece that defines your waistline or designed as a separate bodice and skirt. An A-line dress does not have to be a full length gown. It can be above the knee for the flirtier and fun bride or a full length gown with complete train for the traditional bride.
Depending on the look you want to achieve, the A-line dress can be designed in a range of fabrics. For a free flowing look choose a dress made from silk as this type of fabric is so light and flimsy the dress will hang naturally and create a very feminine look that is elegant and sophisticated. For a more structured look that emphases the A-line shape, then choose a heavier fabric that can hold the shape such as a brocade or satin. If you opt for a simple A-line dress but want it to look a little formal then adding beadwork or lace overlays can achieve the desired look. Whatever A-line style you choose you can be guaranteed that that this style is flattering for all body shapes and sizes.
