The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog has the natural and traditional bulldog form. The other common names can include the Old Southern White Bulldog, Old Country Bulldog and Mountain Bulldog. This breed is well known for its stamina and endurance.

Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs are physically fit. They are stocky, muscular, strong and have an athletic propensity. They are not a large breed but are medium in size. They move with ease and carry themselves with dominance. The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog is a very alert dog that is watchful of its surroundings.

Many Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs tend to have patches of colour throughout their bodies and which typically cover an eye. Generally, the colours are light in shade mixed with dark colours. A blue-Merle can occur in this breed but the colour is rare. The breed has shorthaired coats, short legs and big bones. The breed is not prone to being excessively overweight.

The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog has successfully worked as a farm dog (with many duties), guard dog as well as a loving and faithful companion. The Alapaha are a naturally brave and loyal breed, which is the primary reason for the name “Blue Blood”. They are gentle enough to play and entertain babies and small children yet protective enough to be effective guard dogs. When this breed encounters danger, it will act accordingly to any threat without waiting for a command. It is a fearless and noble breed.
