Although the hair on the Bedlington Terrier’s fur coat is wool-like, it is not wiry. In fact, it has a mixed blend of soft and hard hair that tends to curl. This gives the appearance of a fluffy dog with fur almost like cotton. Typical solid colours of this breed are blue and sandy. Bi-colours are usually sandy and tan, blue and tan, or liver and tan. Grooming takes a lot of time and patience. Weekly brushing is vital to maintain a healthy coat.
