Billy Zane

Born William George Zane, Jr. on 24th February 1966 in Chicago, Illinois, Billy is of Greek descent. He attended a theatre arts school in Wisconsin and started his film career in the hit movie ‘Back to the Future’ (1985) and later appeared in the sequel. He also starred in the HYPERLINK “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBC” o “NBC”NBC film, ‘The Case of the Hillside Stranglers’ (1989) based on the true story of two serial killer cousins in which Zane played the role of killer Ken Bianchi.
Billy has won many awards for his acting including MTV Awards for ‘Villain of the Year’, for his role as Kate Winslet’s fiancé in the Oscar-winning film ‘Titanic’ and a Best Movie and Best Actor Award for ‘I Woke up Early the Day I Died’, which he produced himself and was based on Ed Wood’s last script.
He is also a singer and has played the role of Billy Flynn in a stage production of ‘Chicago’. He was originally cast as Johnny Castle in ‘Dirty Dancing’, but lost the part to Patrick Swayze when they discovered his inability to dance. When cast as his favourite comic book hero ‘The Phantom’ he spent over a year building up muscle to have the right physique for the part.
In 1989 he married the Australian actress Lisa Collins, but the couple divorced in 1995. Several other relationships have followed, the most high profile being his engagement to British actress and television presenter Kelly Brook, but the couple parted in 2008. His interests include photography, painting and collecting cars.
