Body for Life

The Body for Life, or Eating for Life, diet and exercise plan was created by bodybuilder Bill Phillips as a comprehensive body makeover plan whose goal is to provide lifelong improvements in nutrition and overall fitness. A book with the same name is a worldwide bestseller and has given the Body for Life plan worldwide fame. Several books and videos complete Phillips’ line-up with the latest book, ‘Eating for Life’, emphasizing the nutritional aspects of his plan.
Phillips attempts to ensure adequate energy while, at the same time, avoiding any type of faddish, yo-yo dieting. His nutritional plan emphasizes portion control and generally includes eating five or six well proportioned meals each day. The plan includes one “freebie” day where you can eat your favourite foods. A cookbook is included in the ‘Eating for Life’ book as well as sample meal plans and lists of recommended foods. The diet part of the plan is to be used in conjunction with the exercise components, which are a crucial part of this transformative lifestyle plan. It is not a low-calorie plan and it is unlikely that the diet part alone would help you shed a significant amount of weight.
The exercise component of Body for Life is a bit more complicated and includes weight-lifting as well as 20 minutes of aerobic exercise done three times weekly. It is absolutely essential that adherents to the Body for Life system plan on following both the exercise and the diet parts of the plan. People worldwide have experienced a transformative experience using this plan, and Phillips is motivational and passionate about the ability to change your body using diet and exercise.
