Bond Embellish Knit I-Cord Maker

Making an I-cord is one of the most exciting stitches you can ever try. In a way it looks difficult, but once you get to learn how to make one, you will love doing it all day long. However, if your I-cord is too long, you might get bored knitting all of them. Good thing that we already have a solution for that.

Bond’s Embellish Knit I-cord maker is a machine devised to speed up the process of making long I-cords. The I-cord maker has four-tube hooks on top and a crank on its side. The hooks are lifted up and down when the crank is turned. The movement takes and catches the yarn, thus making an I-cord.

The yarn needs to be threaded first so that the device will work. The notch located on top of the tube is where the yarn needs to go through, then down through the tube’s centre. When on the centre of the tube, attach the weight, but just be careful not to pull the yarn. Once already on the first row, continue your stitches. The first two rows are somehow tricky but once you make it, the succeeding strokes will be easier. Ensure that the hooks are relatively grabbing the yarns. Both hooks and yarn need to be simultaneously working together to avoid knots. Make sure that you put weight on the end-chord and don’t exert tension on the yarn’s end so it will work well. To maintain the weight on the chord, move the clamp up often, but make sure you remove the clamp if you measure the cord’s length. Continue the strokes and before you know it you will already have your I-cord.
