Cheap student travel

Being a student has its many perks, but perhaps one of the most popular is getting cheap travel.

One of the most popular methods of transport is the train, and you will be pleased to know that NatWest bank are offering all students who open student bank accounts with them a free young person’s rail card.  The card will give you a third off from the price of your journey, and will save you invaluable amounts of cash.

If you are studying in London you are also able to apply for the Transport for London Student Photocard Scheme. Those that apply will receive an Oyster Card that entitles holders up to 30% off the usual price of travel. To qualify for the card you must be studying at a participating school, college or university, and be under the age of 19.   If you are aged 16 you may be eligible for a different type of card that can offer even greater savings.
If you are hoping to go on holiday during one of the breaks then you should check out STA Travel.  STA are a specialist student travel company who offer vast savings on trips all over the world.  You must be aged under 26 and a student to book through them, and those that do will find the opportunity to go on adventurous holidays in places like Borneo and South America.

There are also various other travel companies that offer student discounts.  Have a look around on the internet to find one that best suits what you are looking for.
