Choosing a Reception Venue

One of the most important decisions you will make when planning your reception is the venue. This will be the place where you spend the majority of your time with your family and friends celebrating your wedding.
One of the first things to consider is how many guests will be attending your reception. Will you need a venue that can cater for hundreds for a huge celebration or something more quiet and personal with fewer guests,
Hopefully you will have already decided where you are holding your ceremony and you can take into account the travel time between where your ceremony is held and where you wish to have your reception. It would be ideal to pick a reception venue that is not more than 20 minutes away from the ceremony, so your guests don’t have to far to drive.
Your budget will also be an important part of the planning process, so have this firmly in mind when looking at venues. Search for venues within your budget, rather than looking at all the options. This way you will not be disappointed if you find that the venue of your dreams is totally out of your reach. Your budget may stretch to a reception at the castle of your dreams, or you may prefer something more intimate in a beautiful garden setting.
Make sure you have a few venue options up your sleeve as the date you want may not be free. This is a memorable event, so take your time and shop around for what you really want.
