Choosing your wedding favours

Wedding favours come in such a diverse range these days that sometimes it may be hard to know where to start. Once you have determined your budget and the number of favours required, you will need to start thinking about what you want the favour to say or represent. The five sugared almonds representing “health, wealth, happiness, fertility and long life” can be a very affordable option, and, because you can present it to your guests as you like, the packaging can be as simple or elaborate as you wish.
A very modern favour that is gaining popularity is for the wedding couple to make a donation to their favourite charity.
Classic wedding favours are small treats such as chocolates, peppermints and dainty confections or small gifts. Candles are another classic choice. Unadorned elegance, personally monogrammed, fragranced, novelty or sweet tea lights, candles are always a hit and well received.
If you are intending on having a seasonal wedding, why not tailor your wedding favours accordingly, Christmas tree and snowflake soaps or candles in winter, fall mulling spices and spiced pear bath salts for the fall, flower bulbs for spring and preserves and citronella candles for summer.
Picture frames and glass coasters, personalised playing cards, crystals representing health and good wishes and lucky bamboo plants are just a few more favours often given that leave the guests with a lingering memory of sharing your wedding day with you.
