Doutzen Kroes



Doutzen Kroes is a blonde haired blue-eyed 5’ 10’’ beauty who was born in Eastermar, in the Freisland region of the Netherlands on 23rd January 1985. Her first name is pronounced ‘doubts in’ but her friends call her Doutzy. She is signed by modelling agency DNA Modelling Management in New York.

When Doutzen graduated from high school she sent photographs of herself to the modelling agency Paparazzi in Amsterdam and was quickly snapped up. She has walked the runway for the world’s top fashion designers including Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Escada, Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino and Versace. She has appeared on the cover of glossy magazines such as Time, Vogue, Glamour, Elle and Marie Claire.

In 2005, she replaced Scarlett Johansson as the spokes-model of Calvin Klein’s fragrance Eternity. The same year she was voted Model of the Year by Vogue Magazine readers. In 2006, she signed a three-year contract with beauty house L’Oreal.

In 2007, she was listed by Forbes as the fourteenth top-earning supermodel with an income of $4.9 million. She rose to fifth place in 2008 with an increased income of $6 million, a place that she retained in 2009 and appears to be set to improve upon in 2010.

In 2008, it was revealed that Doutzen was the newest Victoria’s Secret Angel and alongside fellow supermodel Adriana Lima campaigned for the organisation’s Supermodel Obsession brand.

There is a wax figure of Doutzen in Madame Tussauds wax museum in Amsterdam.
