Freddie Ljungberg

Footballer, Male Model

Born in Vittsjo, Sweden in April 1977, Freddie Ljungberg is a Swedish footballer currently on the Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer. The footballer was also a male model until 2007, working mostly for Calvin Klein. Ljungberg has had much success in both fields, for obvious reasons.

His early life proved Ljungberg to be quite tenacious. When his family moved to Halmstad in 1982, young Ljungberg wouldn’t have any part of it. His demand was that he could play proper football when the moved, and so it began. His coach Ollie Eriksson understood Ljungberg to be quick for his age and a great team player. During his youth, he was also a talented ice hockey and handball player, though he put all his emphasis on football.

As a student, Ljungberg excelled in all subjects. He went on to university to study economic and technology, but balancing professional football and school proved difficult. He quit school to focus on his career. He spent most of his career as a winger in Europe and varied his game between the right, left, and centre. He even was captain of the Swedish national team until his retirement from it in 2008.

Today, in addition to the Seattle Sounders, Ljungberg represents many top brands including L’Oreal, Proctor & Gamble, Nike, Pepsi, ESPN, and Puma. You can also find Ljungberg online. His blog, which he launched in October 2009, is called HYPERLINK “http://www.Freddie.Speaksup.com” http://www.Freddie.Speaksup.com and is a favourite among fans.
