Hotel du Vin

West Midlands

This early Victorian building, formerly housing Birmingham’s Eye Hospital, is situated in the now fashionable jewellery quarter. The sympathetic conversion has created a luxury hotel offering 66 rooms, ranging from standard doubles to the Principal Suite. Children’s beds can be provided if required, while each room is equipped with CD and DVD players and wireless Internet.

The hotel has its own health spa, where facilities include a gym, sauna, steam room and five treatment rooms for a range of holistic and beauty therapies.

The Bistro uses fresh local ingredients to create simple classic dishes, which change seasonally. Varied menus for wedding breakfasts and buffets are available for those planning an event, along with packages for drinks and canapés.

Couples holding weddings at Hotel du Vin have the choice of various rooms for the ceremony; the Opus One room can take up to 15 guests; the Sassicaia room for up to 24 people and the Speyside Glenlivet room, which can accommodate up to 84. In addition, the Courtyard can seat up to 100 people and has a retractable roof to take advantage of good weather.

The hotel’s dedicated wedding planner is on hand to co-ordinate every aspect of the day and items covered by the various packages include complimentary menus, place cards and table plan, table linen and use of glassware and china. An external supplier directory can be provided if required for sourcing other items. Guests are able to take advantage of special rates for accommodation and exclusive use of the hotel and facilities is available.
