How to Treat Breast Cancer Using Alternative Therapy

Breast cancer is now the second leading cause of cancer death in women. It is a condition in which cancer cells are found in the tissues of the breast. The cause of breast cancer is still unknown. According to some theories, breast cancer is due to exposure to environmental hazards, unhealthy lifestyle, genetics, and even wearing of bras. Symptoms of cancer include a painless lump in the breast, swelling, nipple discharge, sudden onset of breast pain, and other changes in its appearance. The said symptoms can be diagnosed by mammogram. Breast cancer might be prevented by monitoring diet, performing daily exercise, avoiding too much exposure to radiation, and eating organic foods.

There are many choices when it comes to cancer treatment. One good choice is complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). CAM is the term used for medical products and practises that are not considered part of standard care. These treatments are different from those of conventional therapy. Complementary medicines are non-standard treatments used with conventional therapy, like surgery, while alternative therapies are medicines or practises that are used instead of the usual treatment. Examples include yoga, dietary supplements like vitamins and herbal medicines, acupuncture, and meditation. They are not guaranteed to help in treating the cancer, but they can lessen the side effects of its treatment or symptoms.

CAM treatments do not work for everyone, but there are some methods, such as acupuncture, that can help deal with nausea, pain, and the other side effects of cancer treatment. To ensure the safety and effectiveness of this kind of therapy, consult a physician beforehand.
