Sex and Alcohol

There are some people who may be so shy, that they have a difficult time talking to others without alcohol. That alone is an indication of the impact that alcohol can have on someone’s behaviour. It is a depressant and tends to relax people. The problem is that there is such a thing as relaxing too much.

Alcohol impairs the senses and the reaction time of the individual. This means that it leaves the person more vulnerable than usual to attacks from other people, including sexual assault or coercion. In fact, those that consume too much alcohol may even “pass out” and in doing so leave themselves unprotected.

Even if you are awake and you are somewhat coherent, what about your partner, Are they coherent enough to make an educated decision, You should use protection too. If the person is drunk, are they going to remember to use protection or are they going to use it properly.

One of the main concerns of mixing alcohol and sex is that it may result in an unwanted pregnancy. If it does not, there are still other consequences. Some of those may include the effect on your self-esteem and reputation. After all, sex is supposed to be done with someone you care about, not someone with whom you happen to have had to much to drink.

Be smart and avoid alcohol. Especially avoid mixing alcohol and sex. There really is no good outcome to mixing the two. The negative outcomes are varied. However, it is almost a guarantee that there will be a negative outcome if you have sex because you have had to much to drink.
