It’s the era of superheroes so why can’t the canines have their claim to fame as well, Bolt is a super-dog (voiced by John Travolta) who saves his owner Penny (voiced by Miley Cyrus) from trouble and evil by using his superpowers.
Sadly, Bolt is slightly deluded because he isn’t actually saving anyone in real life. He plays a super dog on a Hollywood television show! And so he must discover reality.
He is accidentally packed up in a case and finds himself in New York, far from the life he knows. While there, he tries to use his “super powers” but comes to the depressing realisation that he has none! He is accompanied on his journey home by a cynical Mr. Mittens (voiced by Susie Essman). No one but a cat has a name like Mr. Mittens! Completing the trio is a hamster stuck in a plastic ball – Rhino (voiced by Mark Walton) who loves to watch TV!
Stripped of all his imaginary powers, Bolt makes his journey home with his two unlikely companions. His adventurous and eventful journey home teaches him that he can be a hero even without his imaginary powers and abilities! The movie is beautifully heart-felt, cute and funny too.
It is the most adorable movie I have seen in a really long time. If you need to, latch on to a kid as an excuse to buy a ticket, but watch this one. If you’re a sucker for animated movies, you’re going to love this one!
