Talking About Crushes

If you ask any of the adults in your life, it is guaranteed that they will be able to tell you about their first crush, in detail! We have all had them and can remember the overwhelming way it made us feel. Often a crush comes out of nowhere and suddenly you have strong feelings for someone, even if you have never met or spoken to them.

When you think about this person, your heart beats faster and you get butterflies in your stomach. If you are actually in the same room as the object of your affection, you may get sweaty palms and lose the ability to speak as your mouth dries up. This can all be very exciting but unfortunately, crushes do not always live up to expectations. In fact, it can quite literally leave you feeling crushed especially if your crush does not return your feelings.

If you have a crush, you might find it difficult to concentrate on anything else and you might find that you lose your appetite or have difficulty getting to sleep at night. You also might want to keep your crush to yourself. However, if you confide in your friends they may be able to help to take your mind off it.

Having a crush can be magical and torturous all at once. Just remember that your crush is likely to disappear as quickly as it arrived so it is probably best not to make any life changing decisions based on these fleeting feelings.
