The Priest House

Derbyshire

Part of the Hand Picked Hotels Group, The Priest House is situated on the banks of the River Trent, in Derbyshire. In the Domesday Book the site is mentioned as having been occupied by watermills, but the current building dates back to the seventeenth century.

The hotel has 42 rooms, ranging from cottage rooms with period features, to luxury suites. All rooms offer flat screen TVs and broadband Internet access.

The restaurant has been awarded two AA rosettes and serves traditional dishes from a market menu that is updated daily to reflect local seasonal produce. For events, the hotel can cater for vegetarians and special dietary requirements and offers a children’s menu. The maximum dining capacity is 100 guests.

The hotel only hosts one wedding per day, in order to ensure that couples have the undivided attention of the events staff, while exclusive use of the hotel is available for larger weddings. Packages cover items such as a red carpet, complimentary menu tasting prior to the day, menu cards and a main house room for the bride and groom on the wedding night.

Other aspects of the wedding that can be arranged include a toastmaster and discounted accommodation rates for guests. Staff can organise hair and make-up artists, photographers and entertainment. There is also a complimentary wine and canapé tasting for up to 6 people, to assist with menu choices.

For those wishing to add an unusual touch to their celebrations, arrangements can be made for arrivals by hot air balloon.
