The Royal Hotel

Yorkshire North Riding

The Royal Hotel is situated in the centre of Scarborough and dates back to around 1830. Over the years it has played host to many famous people including Winston Churchill and Alan Ayckbourn. It has 118 rooms, which range from single rooms to suites and all are equipped with internet access and TV. Some rooms have sea views and guests can make use of the 24-hour room service. There is a health and beauty salon on-site which offers a range of treatments.

The hotel’s restaurant has been recommended in the Michelin guide and has a menu of traditional Yorkshire fare. For weddings and other events there are a range of menus to suit all tastes.

The hotel has an event co-ordinator who can assist with organising many aspects of a wedding. Wedding packages can include items such as the services of a toastmaster; a red carpet welcome; use of table linen; floral arrangements for tables; personalised menus and wedding night accommodation for the bride and groom. The hotel can cater for events of up to 350 people though there are several suites suitable for smaller gatherings.

Exclusive use of the hotel is available and, for those who want something slightly different for their celebration, the Royal Hotel is able to arrange some special touches such as an ice sculpture, a chocolate or champagne fountain and transportation, which ranges from a horse-drawn carriage to a vintage car.
