Top 10 Action Film Cliches

Lots of movies have clichés that make it predictable or common. For some reason action films seem to be riddled with them. Here are the top ten.

10. Car won’t start
That damn car will never start when you need to get away which gives the bad guys more time to catch up.

9. Death trap set-up
There always seems to be a pre-set plan that will capture the bad guy or in some instances the hero.

8. Gun runs out of bullets
The hero never has enough bullets, they always run out and the enemy is well armed.

7. Ticking time bomb
There’s always a time deadline and the bomb ticks, literally. The hero looks at the bomb and realizes he doesn’t have enough time.

6. Bad guys never die the first time
It always takes several times to kill the bad guy; they never drop the first time around.

5. Government files are easy to access
Somehow people can always pull up files online and access anyone’s information at the drop of a hat.

4. Hostages are always women
Just because they’re women doesn’t mean they can’t hold their own too.

3. Third person shooter
Someone comes and shoots the bad guys as he holds a gun to the hero just as he is about the kill the lead character.

2. Henchmen are terrible shots
These are henchmen – they should be able to shoot a gun, but in action films they always miss allowing the hero to escape.

1. Bad guy’s long speech
Why must a bad guy give a long speech about how he created this scheme and how he plans on killing the hero and so forth, Wouldn’t he just off the guy in reality,
