Football is an all American sport that hundreds of thousands of fans love to watch every week and celebrate with tailgate parties and barbecues. So it’s only natural that there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of films made about the subject. Here are the top ten football films of all time.

10. ‘Jerry Maguire’ (1996)
Cameron Crowe’s film about a sports agent who develops a conscience, played by Tom Cruise, is a touching, comedic and dramatic look at the management side of football and what it takes to become number one on either side of the field. Tom Cruise was able to charm both men and women, making this an instant sports classic.

9. ‘Remember The Titans’ (2000)
Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine a sports team that wasn’t culturally and ethnically diverse, but this film, starring Denzel Washington, reminds us that once upon a time that was the way it was. This movie is about bringing different people together and putting differences aside for the greater goal of victory and along the way, unity.

A funny and somewhat romantic film about a quarterback who is accidentally taken up to heaven before his time. He ends up reincarnated in the body of a millionaire, who buys the Rams so he can be a quarterback again and play in the Superbowl.

The best movie about football is the one that inspired lots of young men to pick up the ball and play, ‘Rudy’. This is the story of a boy who wanted to play football more than anything and defied the odds to achieve his dream.
