Wedding Dresses for a Winter Wedding

When getting married most people try and plan a summer wedding to get good photos, nice weather and the perfect setting. However, getting married in winter has become more popular, as winter is a romantic time of year for the perfect wedding setting.
If you decide to get married in winter then when it comes to choosing your dress you need to make sure it is comfortable and warm, but also makes you look beautiful and elegant. Having a winter wedding lets you explore different fabrics that are heavier than the fabric used for traditional summer wedding dresses. Examples of fabric that can be used for a winter wedding include velvet, taffeta and brocade silk. You are also not limited to an ivory or white wedding dress; you can take advantage of having a wedding dress that is a richer colour, such as a deep red.
Having a winter wedding doesn’t mean you should compromise your dress for the warmth factor, although standing their shivering just to look nice is not really a good option. Choose a wedding dress that has long sleeves. If you do opt for a dress with short sleeves, a halter neck or strapless dress, look at having a cape to go with the dress. Having a cape also allows you to take it off when having photographs taken. For the more fashion conscious there are a few hidden ways you can use to stay warm without covering up your lovely dress, for example, wearing heavy tights underneath to keep your legs nice and warm.
