Weigh Down Diet



The Weigh Down diet is a Christian weight loss program developed by Gwen Shamblin, author and leader of the Remnant Fellowship Church. The Weigh Down philosophy is that people should only eat when they are physically hungry and should turn towards God and the Bible to fulfil emotional needs previously met by food. The Weigh Down program encourages dieters who feel the urge for a snack to stop and read the Bible instead. Dieters following this program are taught that overeating is greedy and that food shouldn’t be the focus of people’s energies. Exercise is not a component of these diet plans nor does it offer any type of fat-burners or “magic” supplements. The diet predominantly relies upon the power of people’s minds to help them control their weight. Personal responsibility is emphasised on this diet plan and dieters are taught that their body is a temple and that they shouldn’t do anything to cause it harm.
