Aquarium Maintenance: Water Condition

Keeping a fish is considered to be a means of relaxation and a hobby. It needs extra care so as to preserve their lives from uncertain water conditions. However, fish-keeping is somehow a bit broad, since you also have to consider what manner of fish-keeping you are going to choose. One of these is adopting a marine aquaria or a home aquarium. This fish-keeping type of hobby is usually hard to maintain, considering the additional costs to be borne.

In order to attain an exceedingly beautiful aquarium, you have to be sure to maintain a balanced condition for the water. The solute, or the component of a solution, which changes the water state is possibly the most significant aspect in these water conditions. These water classifications, in line with the solutes, can be enumerated as follows: water with salt content, or salinity; water similar to lake or river or fresh water; combination of fresh and salt water, such as estuaries or brackish water; and replicating the water from the ocean or the sea (sea water or salt water).

Water temperature forms the basic classifications of aquarium, both cold water and tropical. Warm water with 25°C average temperature is more common. Those with lower temperatures are cold water, which suits a cooler environment. Temperature consistency is more important than temperature range, which may lead to diseases. With the combination of heater unit and thermometer, the temperature of the water can be regulated. To stimulate a natural ecosystem accurately, aquarists require water movement. Aeration from air pumps regulates the water movement.
