Massage in Thailand: Oriental de Phuket

Oriental de Phuket offers many styles of massage, including traditional Thai massage, aromatherapy, hand and foot massage, sports massage, and Indian head massage (champissage).

The professional therapists are trained and certified by the Thai Massage Association. They offer nuad bo-rarn, using slow, rhythmic compressions that follow the traditional energy lines of oriental medicine, and stretches and assisted yoga postures. Hot compresses with organic herbs add to the relaxation.

Foot massage takes advantage of the reflexology points in the foot to aid the whole-body balancing of the nuad bo-rarn massage. Back, neck, and head massage is recommended for those whose jobs require sitting in a single position for extended periods. The champissage stimulates the head, neck, and scalp, finishing with oils for the hair.

Individual massage services range from 400 to 650 baht (£8 – £13). A two-hour Thai massage costs 600 baht (£1,200) and a one-hour oil massage, 500 baht (£10). Massage packages combining multiple treatments range from 700-1100 baht (£14 – £22).

Oriental de Phuket also has a nail salon offering manicures, pedicures, paraffin dips, nail styling, and scrubs, ranging from 200 baht to 1,800 baht. (£4 – £36)
