Perro de Presa Mallorquin – Dog Breed Information and Pictures

The Perro de Presa Mallorquin dog breed originates from the island of Majorca, an island off the coast of Spain. Although this dog seems to bear a similar name to the Perro de Presa Canario, they are indeed very different dogs. While the latter resembles a mastiff and is always of medium to large build, the Perro de Presa Mallorquin resembles a classic bulldog and is a bit smaller.

Perro de Presa Mallorquins go by many names. For instance, they are often called Mallorquin Bulldogs or Majorcan Bulldogs because of the way that they look and their resemblance to the American Bulldog and Old English Bulldog. They’ve also been called the Ca de Bou and the Perro Dogo Mallorquin.

The size and shape of the Perro de Presa Mallorquin varies based on the sex. The female dogs of this breed have smaller heads than the male Perro de Presa Mallorquins. For weight, females average between 30 and 34 kilograms while the male’s average between 35 and 38 kilograms. As for height, the females are between 52 and 55 centimetres tall while the males are between 55 and 58 centimetres tall.

Perro de Presa Mallorquin dogs need a lot of exercise. They should not be kept indoors for long periods of time or they may develop obedience as well as health issues. Instead, let them have vigorous exercise every day, whether this is going for a run or long walk, or even playing fetch for an hour.
