‘Body of Evidence’

The movie ‘Body of Evidence’ came to theatres in January of 1993. The movie notoriously stars Madonna in the lead role of Rebecca Carlson. Willem Dafoe also stars as Frank Dulaney. Notable performances were also made by Joe Mantegna, Michael Forest, and Julianne Moore.

‘Body of Evidence’ was nominated for a variety of awards in 1993 and 1994. Madonna took home the Razzie Award for Worst Actress, but was also nominated for an MTV Movie Award for Most Desirable Female as well.

The movie sees Madonna accused of murdering her wealthy lover. William Dafoe is Madonna’s defense attorney, and the two quickly become involved in a very passionate affair. The movie features a number of very graphic sex scenes that any fan of Madonna will likely appreciate.

As the movie progresses, evidence is discovered that will get you thinking that Madonna actually did kill her dead lover. Dafoe starts to believe this as well.

‘Body of Evidence’ has a similar theme to earlier movies like ‘Basic Instinct’. If you are a fan of that particular genre then Body of Evidence will likely not disappoint. It should also be noted that the theatrical version varies quite a bit from the unrated version which is now available on DVD. Additional nude scenes of Madonna were included with the newer version.

This movie should not be confused with the novel written by Patricia Cornwell that bears the same name. The movie has nothing to do with the book whatsoever.
