“Little Britain” Star David Walliams to Audition for “Twilight” Role

David Walliams, one half of the wildly popular “Little Britain” comedy duo, has reportedly been asked to audition for a role in the fourth “Twilight” film, “Breaking Dawn.” No official details have been released regarding the character, but rumours point to a role as a new member of the Cullen family who helps them stand up to the Volturi, which means Walliams will be playing a vampire. “Twilight” producers were impressed by his portrayal of an evil charmer in “Capturing Mary,” reports The Sun and were compelled to ask for an audition.

The fourth and final book in Stephanie Meyer’s vampire series concerns Bella and Edward’s marriage, her pregnancy and the final battle with the Volturi. The movies have stayed true to the books, so news of this possible casting has “Twilight” fans looking back over the novel to try and figure out which part producers might have in mind for Walliams.

The comedian also has roles in two other movies set to be released this year; “Marmaduke,” in which he stars as the beloved dog’s trainer Anton and “Dinner for Schmucks,” co-starring Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd. There is also an untitled project in the works with his “Little Britain” co-star Matt Lucas. Things are also going well for Walliams in his personal life. He recently became engaged to model Lara Stone, who replaced Madonna as the face of Louis Vuitton.
