Me, You, Them

This is a cute romantic comedy and the best part about it is that it is based on a true story. It’s about a woman, Darlene, who has a very big heart – too big to give over to just one man. She has three husbands and each one of them holds a special place in her heart. Each one meets a different need of hers and that’s why she loves them all.

Osias is her rogue lover. The owner of a goat farm, he’s a man’s man, and he satisfies her needs when she wants a real man in her life. Then there’s Zezinho, her affectionate and somewhat feminine-leaning husband. When his mother dies, he hooks up with Darlene and even performs domestic duties for her. Finally, there’s Ciro. This guy is Darlene’s eye candy. She finds him at work and brings him home. He’s a hunk that is certainly nice to have around the house.

This movie is pure fairy tale in that one woman having three husbands just isn’t going to work in real life. But the movie let’s us imagine, even if just for a short time, how wonderful life could be. Because the acting is so good, the off-the-wall plot is actually made believable, and thus the movie is even more entertaining.

To make it even more interesting, the movie is shot in the romantic locale of Brazil and the location shots are simply breathtaking.

I enjoyed this movie and found it a great way to pass a couple of hours.
