Set on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, the Lord Hill has 36 rooms each individually designed, and include the Abbey Suite and the Bridal Suite. Twelve of these rooms are located in the main hotel and a further 24 are in the adjacent hotel lodge. All rooms are en-suite and equipped with TV, telephone and other home comforts.
The Conservatory can hold up to 70 people for wedding ceremonies and the hotel offers a choice of function suites, ideal for receptions, and they can accommodate up to 300 guests. Varied menus are available for both the wedding breakfast as well as evening buffets and these are based on traditional dishes. A separate children’s menu can also be provided. Drinks packages have been put together to cover arrival drinks, wine with the meal and sparkling wine or champagne for the toast.
On such occasions, wedding guests can take advantage of reduced accommodation rates. The hotel has a wedding co-ordinator and wedding packages that can include such items as a red carpet, Master of Ceremonies, menu cards, table plan, table linen and a room for the bride and groom on the wedding night. A full English breakfast is also offered to couples having both day and evening functions. Couples holding their wedding on a Sunday or weekday will also qualify for a complimentary dinner for two on their first anniversary.
Hotel staff can help arrange flowers, organise cars, entertainment, hair and make-up. A list of recommended local wedding services is available if required.
