St Donats is one of the most magical places at which to get wed, situated on the cliffs of the Vale of Glamorgan over looking the Severn Estuary and Somerset. St Donats is a 12th century Welsh Castle, complete with its own Renaissance garden and enchanted woodlands and secret valleys. You can hold a candlelit ceremony amid the timeless grounds in this ancient monument or have your photographs taken while strolling its gardens on a glorious spring afternoon, making your wedding day a dream.
The Main Hall provides an excellent venue for your reception and evening entertainment, with St Donats professional catering staff available to cater for all your needs during your special day. Additional accommodation can be found in the nearby towns of Cowbridge and Bridgend which are about 15 minutes from the Castle.
For those preferring the lure of the city, Cardiff is about half an hour’s drive through the vale countryside. This part of Wales is packed with museums, castles and shopping malls which will provide ample amusement and entertainment during your weekend’s stay.
St Donats can be reached in half an hour from junction 33 of the M4, through the country lanes just off the A48 road past Cowbridge. For those flying into Cardiff International Airport the venue is only ten minutes away, while train travellers will have to travel longer as the nearest railway station is at Bridgend town centre, eight miles away.
