Dinefwr Castle

Location: Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire

Newton House is part of the 800 acres that make up the historic Dinefwr Park and Castle grounds on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The estate is surrounded by luscious green meadows and ancient woodlands that are home to fallow deer and herds of rare cattle.

The castle was once the medieval court of the Welsh prince, Lord Rhys and later the Barons of Dynevor. The house is decorated in a typically opulent Edwardian style, featuring wood panelling, gilt edged paintings and large picture windows that offer views of the surrounding countryside.

They are licensed to hold wedding and civil ceremonies and many happy events are performed in the imposing splendour of the Dining Room. This can hold up to 80 guests and makes an excellent backdrop for your wedding photographs. The castle grounds also make a particularly special location to remember the day by, with their landscaped gardens, fountains and scenic views.

There are a number of excellent venues locally that would be ideally suited to accommodating your guests and holding your wedding reception. Situated in the centre of one of Wales’s most popular rural tourist destinations there are ample hotels and country houses capable of catering for wedding parties.

Dinefwr Castle is on the outskirts of Llandeilo near Carmarthen, located just off the M4; take the A40(t) then the A476 to reach the grounds. You can also get the local train to Llandeilo station which is only ½ mile away.
